RU Directors and Pastors,
We want to take a moment and Thank You for the hundreds of calls, prayers, and encouraging messages we have received over the past few weeks. We would also like to recognize your patience and dedication as we reorganize and restructure many people and positions within the RU Ministry. Like every valley, this one has proven itself to be a necessary part of God’s plan. He has made one statement clear, and it has reverberated from every corner of this valley.
“God is the Creator and Owner of the RU Recovery Ministry, and HE will see that it continues to reach the addicted and bring Glory to His Kingdom.”
We have watched the Lord’s hands command and sustain the RU Ministry many times, but never as prevalent as in recent weeks. Some of RUs most familiar faces are no longer part of the team. These exits caused some concern about our future, but we were quickly reminded that “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.” Hebrews 13:8
At the end of each day, He is in charge.
We are in an excellent position to reevaluate some core processes. Immediately we recognize the importance and value of our local chapters, and we are rededicating ourselves to serve you better. We have challenged ourselves to place you as our greatest priority. Let’s take a few lines and share some moves we think are imperative.
NEW PRIORITIES
You and your chapter are the priority. We intend to equip you with the resources you need. We recognize your desire to bring transformation and Ministry to the addicts in your community. We are here to support that initiative.
IMPROVED COMMUNICATION
We plan to be open and transparent. Our annual reports are readily available online, and we are working diligently to update those with the most current records.
We will provide a clear business plan and operating structure.
We will often ask and encourage your thoughts and suggestions.
STREAMLINE PRODUCTS AND SERVICES
We are currently taking a critical look at all our products and services. The goal here is simple—no more “back-ordered” items. We will focus on core products and work towards a consistent inventory of essential items. Your financial investment will be the guiding force behind this product reduction. You purchased, you continue to purchase, and we are listening.
Many of you have contacted us, and these issues seem to need the most attention. This list is the first of many as we move forward and cultivate an attitude of “continuing to improve.” There has never been a point in my recovery where I had it all figured out. To quote a former RU leader: “I am always a student first.”
There is much work to be done. We are not out of the valley, and we remain reliant on your patience and understanding. There is a brilliant light ahead, and we feel that beacon becomes brighter when we work together. “Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.” Philippians 2:2
At this time, a handful of chapters have officially decided to part ways. We wish to extend our respect and love to those groups and their leaders. To you, who have remained steadfast, we extend our humble appreciation. We will do everything we can to honor your decision.
Nowhere in God’s word are we instructed to quit the race or leave during the storm. We are told to “…be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.” 1 Corinthians 15:58
We love and appreciate each of you, and we Thank You again for your patience as we navigate this storm.
If you have ANY concerns, Questions, or Needs, please reach out.
