Victorious Life Stories

I don’t know who will read this letter and I’m sure it will be like hundreds of others you have received; but, I must praise the Lord and give glory to our Heavenly Father for giving me a Victorious Life and for RU and everyone who has had a part in it now and through the years!

Matthew 25:40 says: “And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.”

I’ve been saved for 33 years. My father was a pastor and I couldn’t have asked for better, more loving, godly parents! I worked in and for different ministries in Michigan, then moved to Cleveland, TN to serve in a local missionary group. I went through several trials and afflictions and became very depressed, apathetic, and only going through outward motions of Christianity. After the trials I even began to doubt my salvation. I experienced some severe medical issues, financial issues and the death of both of my parents after caring for them during long, devastating suffering illnesses. Then I came to the place where I planned and prepared to end my life.

But the Lord never gave up on me! One Sunday evening my pastor focused on the RU ministry chapter that we have in our church. The Holy Spirit convicted me and I knew the Lord wanted me to go to RU. My pride did battle against the Holy Spirit because I didn’t want the people at church to know that I needed RU! Well, the pastor asked those who would commit to going to RU just one time??to raise their hands, so I thought I could go one time. ?I went in December of 2010 and when our chapter director gave his testimony, I was overwhelmed with the love, compassion and hope being offered to me!?? Well, as you know, it’s not any gimmick or “program” that is offered but an opportunity to develop a one-on-one, daily, abundant life with Christ. I had gained Victory in my life.

It’s hard to convey my gratitude for the joy and peace and unending blessings & victory like I’ve never experienced before. Thank you to everyone at RU for your love and labor on behalf of myself and countless others! In closing, I want to praise the Lord for our chapter director, Bro. Wade Pope, who attended the Residential Treatment Center there in Illinois. He had the privilege of learning directly from Bro. Curington, the local church and workers in Rockford. Bro. Wade and his wife, Brandy, are among the finest, wisest, and loving leaders that I could ever hope to have.

I, too, can say as the Psalmist did in Psalm 126: “When the Lord turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream. Then was our month filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen the Lord hath done great things for them. The Lord hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad.”
