Story of Victory 8-23-13

Principle #10, “We lose our freedom to choose when we give in to temptation.  Our consequences are inevitable, incalculable and up to God.”  Many times, people learn this principle far too late.  Reformers Unanimous reaches into institutions to help those who are incarcerated through RIP, the Reformers Institutional Program.  Below is a “story of victory” from one such student…would you join us in prayer for him?

A life of drug abuse, prison, hospitals, bullet holes, knife wounds, lost loved ones (family, friends, spouses, children) has led me to God. The list goes on and on and is quite overwhelming, even to me. It is a miracle that I am still alive and I now understand that God has a plan for me. All these trials are strengthening me in faith.

I am 40 years old and “the school of hard knocks” has given me many tools to help others find God and change their lives and maybe even change the world. I am in prison until 2028 unless God chooses a shorter stay and a more meaningful path. In the meantime, I am thankful for and learn so much from Reformers Unanimous.  Through this ministry, the seeds of God’s Word are planted in my heart and it is God’s promise that these seeds will bring forth much fruit. I am also able minister to other inmates.

It is my dream and possibly God’s plan to minister to people in the free world someday. I desire to warn others through this opportunity to help save people from the unfortunate tragedies of this lifestyle. As I wait for this chance, I obtain tools through God’s Word to be effective at this dream.

  1. This fellow made a comment about “ministering to people in the free world”. I just want to say that where the Spirit of the Lord is there is liberty (freedom). Also, Jesus said “knowing the truth will make you free”. This man IS FREE and as others come to “know the Truth” (Jesus), they will be set free as well; even in prision.
