God created us to bring Him glory, that is to say, “make Him look good”. The choices we make effect this. May I ask, how did you make Him look good yesterday? We have the opportunity as His children to positively project His name. For with every name comes a reputation. My friend, are we giving Him a proper reputation by the things that we say and do?
“If we have Jesus IN us, then we should be able to let Him shine OUT!”
Do my choices make God look good?
God created us to bring Him glory, that is to say, “make Him look good”. May I ask, how did you make Him look good yesterday? We have the opportunity as His children to positively project His name. For with every name comes a reputation. My friend, are we giving Him a proper reputation by the things that we say and do?
I have five children, and though they are responsible for their individual actions, they all reflect on the entire Curington family name. Their attitudes, actions, and abilities all reflect that they are a part of our family. I must say, however, that I am not always delighted with their choices as a Curington. Though I cannot make choices for them, if they would ask for and often listen to my instructions, I can help them make right choices.
Do I make my choices IN Him?
This is much the same with His Light that shines with IN every believer. His Light reflects upon the family of God. God dwells IN the believer IN the form of the Holy Spirit. As with my own children, the Holy Spirit will not force His children to make right choices, but He does instruct us how to do so. The Holy Spirit is our Wisdom and can give us all our right choices that would bring Father and His family great glory.
Matthew 5:16 says, “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” It is time once again to dissect and define our verse in order to grasp the Truth found IN God’s Word. Let (allow) your light (manifestation of Christ in you) so shine (radiate brilliance) before men, that they may see (understand) your good works (good that you do), and glorify (make to look good) your Father which is in heaven. In essence, we should allow the manifestation of Christ IN us to radiate brilliantly in front of others, that they may understand the good we do and make our heavenly Father look good!
Do my choices help people see Christ in me?
I want to emulate Christ, and if Jesus is willing to dwell IN, then I should be willing to let Him OUT for others to see! In 2 Corinthians 4:6, God reveals our motivation for allowing the Light to shine out from with IN us. It states, “For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.”
He has shined within our heart as a start! From there we are to let Him escape that His glory might take shape. What an awesome privilege we daily have to make God look good. My friend let me conclude with a question. What is the situation that inhibits the manifestation of His illumination? Is Christ stuck IN you? Or can He come in and out that others may find pasture?
