My name is Jeff and I am 49 years old. I have lived a life in the counsel of the ungodly, but now I am like a tree planted by the rivers of water!
What my life was like before I met Jesus:
I grew up in foster homes, one after the other, and ran away a lot. Therefore, I was in and out of juvenile detention.
I spent a lot of time on the streets of Spokane and that is where I learned about drugs and crime. At age 15, I was doing pot, pills, and acid. Then when I turned 18, it was all over when I stuck a needle in my arm. Coke, meth, brown became my life and as a result of those drugs, I have been to prison 8 times in over 25 years. I have never been out of jail for more than 11 months at a time since the age of 15.
How I realized I needed Jesus:
It took many years for me to realize my need for Jesus. I knew of Him and even remember saying the Lord’s prayer for the first time when I was in jail in 1994. But I never sought after Him. The RU program has helped me do just that! I give all thanks to Jesus my Saviour but also want to thank Jim Logan, who has walked me through the program of RU. I love the guy and he is “on fire” for Jesus! I want to be just like him. I will always hold Jim close to my heart because God changed me through him.
Some things I now believe:
I know He controls my life, not my addiction anymore. I know all things are possible through Jesus Christ. I know He strengthens me with His Holy Spirit. I know if I am in agreement with Him, the incredible greatness of His power is activated. And, I know I will see you all in the kingdom of Heaven!
