New Steve Curington Memorial Service Update

Update 11/02/2010 11:00am:

We feel an overwhelming response to those of you who have communicated your desire to come to Rockford, and we are grateful.  Our prayer is that the number of attendees will continue to grow in honor of our dear friend, Steve Curington.

Pastor Kingsbury and the family have added a time when friends from around the country, as well as those locally, can attend a visitation and viewing at North Love Baptist Church, 5301 E. Riverside Blvd., on Thursday, November 4, 2010, from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.  This will be followed by the 5:00-6:30 pm visitation and the 7:00 pm memorial at the Metro Center. We will be taking a love offering at the service.

Many have asked if we are going to be able to live stream this event.  The details are not complete at this time, but we will post an answer regarding live stream by Thursday midday.  It remains our prayer that as many of you be here as possible. Register at

  1. It is impossible for me and my family to attend but if it were possible, we would. It would be a tremendous blessing to be able to view this memorial via livestream. Our church started the RU program in July 2010 and it has been a blessing beyond words to me and our church. What a blessing that Bro. Curington was able to institute a discipleship program that would help so many folks lives to be changed before 0ur Heavenly Father took him home. May God comfort Mrs. Curington and their children during this very difficult time. I lost my father when I was 15 so I understand the pain of the void. 2. If I could be there trust me I would be on a plane instantly but like that other person said it is impossible for us to come as well and if there was a live stream I would be ever so grateful. I started attending a chapter where I live and I am ever so grateful there is one it is because of God and RU I have grown and I have changed so much in just a few short months I am still doing the deciple ship program, I have never in all my days seen a program that works and is gaureented to work like RU. I have been in a few *Faith Based Programs* and they dont work I have to do my part but in RU I see and Know my God is there with me. Thank you God and RUI and Thank you Steve Curington for the Vision

  4. I was able to meet bro. currington and his wife lori, when they came to the Jubilee Ladies Home in Corpus christi , Texas, at the Roloff Homes there. He actually took all of us out for pizza at CiCi's. We had a great time! I got to ride in the car with him and his wife, as we drove back to the Homes. I remember everything he said, always praising God for everything! He gave me some advice I will never forget. Where you serve the Lord, your whole heart has to go with you. I am so blessed to have had the opportunity to meet him. His program helped change my life from an addiction that almost killed me! Mrs. Rachel Johnson Thank you Lord. Praying for the family.

  5. In life, Steve Curington had a veil of ordinariness and that our eyes could not pierce but now that he is gone- the greatness of his works show us his true greatness.

  7. Genuine, authentic, honest. He was transparent and his love for the ministry and for others was of a sort I have never seen before. Jesus shined through him. That is the only possible answer to how he did what he did. What a testmony and what an inspiration.
